An Interactive Evening

To celebrate our fifth issue, “Artificial Realities,” we teamed up with The Culture Club over at Critical Practices Inc. to curate a night of exploration of the real and very unreal ways in which we live, communicate, and occupy social spaces.

Entitled “An Interactive Evening” and hosted at Jay Street Bar on June 6, 2017, social interaction was prompted, limited, and challenged by 15-minute constraints: from as simple as “Talk to someone you do not know” to constraints a few layers deeper, like “If you are a woman you are not allowed to use any apologetic words,” or, “If you are a white man, you can only use 5 words.” Throughout the night, were disrupted and space was reoriented.  unexpected encounters, great conversations, and a little bit of adventure.
